This system that gives breakfast and wholesome snacks to college students is feeling the COVID pinch.
The Ontario Scholar Vitamin Program (OSNP) offers funding and help to 61 faculties in Gray and Bruce Counties. OSNP altered program supply throughout pandemic faculty closures to proceed to fulfill the wants of scholars and households that confronted challenges.
This system achieved this by partnering with different neighborhood companies to distribute meals packing containers and grocery reward playing cards. Now, with faculties open in September, they’re tasked with providing wholesome meals packages with restricted budgets and sharply rising meals costs. Short-term emergency funds that had been out there to assist with elevated prices and COVID-19 are to date not out there this 12 months, but bills are anticipated to be larger now than ever.
