The long-awaited Marriott Bethesda Downtown lodge at 7707 Woodmont Ave. in Bethesda opened on Tuesday, with a gathering and ribbon-cutting within the foyer.
“Rising up on this enterprise, this isn’t my first ribbon-cutting. However it’s a significantly particular one,” David Marriott, the director of Marriott Worldwide’s Board of Administrators and incoming chairman, instructed a crowd gathered within the foyer.
Marriott, the grandson of firm founder J. Willard Marriott, stated Tuesday that the Bethesda lodge is the 8,000th for the Bethesda-based firm, which is in its 95th yr. He referred to as the opening a “true milestone second for the corporate.”
