GILL — U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern visited Upinngil Farm Wednesday morning the place he highlighted the connection between vitamin and meals safety throughout his eleventh annual farm tour throughout Western and Central Massachusetts.
Upinngil Farm proprietor Clifford Hatch led McGovern and his workers round his farm. McGovern was joined by state Sen. Jo Comerford, D-Northampton, state Rep. Susannah Whipps, I-Athol, representatives from the U.S. Division of Agriculture and native nonprofit Neighborhood Concerned in Sustaining Agriculture (CISA).
Apart from Upinngil Farm, Wednesday’s tour included Atlas Farm in South Deerfield, CISA, Crimson & Clover Farm in Northampton, and Many Fingers Farm in Amherst. The tour will proceed Thursday, with stops farther east.
