Joseph Kennedy, a working towards Christian and former Marine, was a junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach at Bremerton Excessive Faculty from 2008 to 2015. Bremerton Excessive Faculty is a public highschool within the Bremerton School District (the “District”) of Kitsap County, Washington. Throughout his tenure, Kennedy started a ritual of his personal whereby he knelt within the heart of the sphere for about 30 seconds instantly after every sport to offer thanks for the student-athletes’ accomplishments. In line with news reports, his prayers would sound one thing like “Lord, I thanks for these children and the blessing you’ve given me with them. We imagine within the sport, we imagine in competitors and we are able to come into it as rivals and depart as brothers.” Early on, his observe was finally joined by the vast majority of his soccer crew – though participation was not expressly compelled – and generally advanced into motivational speeches that concerned spiritual themes.
