Dan McAlpine, VA coordinator at Richland and a U.S. Navy veteran, stated getting out of the army life could be difficult, and every day, someplace between 17 and 22 veterans die by suicide.

“Once you get out, it appears like all the pieces you’ve recognized is over and it’s difficult,” McAlpine stated. “Hopefully by elevating consciousness and these people working the course, they’ll see that they’ll overcome these challenges.”
