West Feliciana summer day camp includes nutrition lessons | St. Francisville

For six years, Layne Langley, space diet agent with the LSU AgCenter, has been delivering diet applications to the youth collaborating within the West Feliciana Parks & Recreation Summer season Camp.

Lorie Grezaffi, West Feliciana Parish occasion specialist/administrative assistant, requested Langley to conduct diet classes throughout summer season camp.

On her first go to, Langley launched the campers to the U.S. Division of Agriculture’s MyPlate. She mentioned every of the 5 meals teams: dairy, protein, fruits, grains and greens. The youth break up into two groups for the MyPlate Relay. Campers raced to position plastic meals into meals group buckets. Langley reviewed the placings with the campers.
