Legacy Park on the Pomonok Homes in Flushing was formally reopened on Wednesday, Sept. 14, following a $3 million renovation.
Queens Borough President Donovan Richards joined metropolis officers and group leaders to chop the ribbon and welcome guests again to the park, which turned the primary of three NYCHA developments in Queens to have open areas renovated underneath a brand new pilot program introduced by the Adams administration. The initiative will even carry upgrades to public areas on the Sotomayor and Watson Homes within the Bronx and Kingsborough Homes in Brooklyn.
The initiative is paying for improved leisure house at six NYCHA developments, together with Pomonok, Woodside and Redfern in #Queens. It will assist us deal with the long-standing inequities in park entry that lots of our communities have skilled. pic.twitter.com/WKA5E8Get6
