Hood launches graduate nutrition sciences program | Education

College students specializing in sustainable diet will work with Hood’s sustainability research program and research “sustainable meals programs and regenerative agricultural practices,” in accordance with the discharge. 

“We expect we’re the one diet program within the state of Maryland that has that sustainability research observe,” stated April Boulton, the dean of Hood’s graduate faculty. “We’re very enthusiastic about it.”

This system will likely be housed beneath the Ruth Whitaker Holmes College of Behavioral and Well being Sciences, which the faculty shaped in April.

The varsity — which can home Hood’s graduate and undergraduate levels in nursing, counseling, social work and extra — is called for Holmes, who graduated from the faculty in 1955 with a level in chemistry. She donated $1 million towards the varsity’s founding, which was matched by the Maryland Division of Commerce E-Nnovation Fund.
