Snapchat launches parental controls to help manage teens’ social media use : NPR

The aim, executives say, is to allow mother and father to observe their kid’s connections with out compromising teenagers’ autonomy. Named Household Middle, the brand new suite of instruments launched Tuesday requires each caregiver and teenage to choose in.

“It permits mother and father to see who’s of their teen’s universe,” stated Nona Farahnik, director of platform coverage for Snap, the corporate that makes Snapchat. “It provides mother and father the flexibility to ask who somebody could be, how they may know a contact, which prompts these sorts of real-time conversations about who teenagers are speaking to.”
