Strengthening Food Systems to Address Undernutrition Challenges – World

LEAN is a consortium between United Objective, Helvetas, the International Alliance for Improved Vitamin (GAIN), Caritas Bangladesh, Jum Basis, and the Built-in Improvement Basis. Since 2018, LEAN has been aiming to interrupt the perpetual cycle of undernutrition in rural areas of 18 sub-districts of three hill districts, and targets 82,000 pregnant and lactating ladies, 100,000 youngsters underneath 5 years and 100,000 adolescent ladies from 210,000 rural households.

Meals techniques challenges and LEAN responses

One of many first obstacles to constructive modifications in native meals techniques is a scarcity of or ineffective diet governance. LEAN is selling and strengthening such governance, for instance, by facilitating multi-stakeholder platforms (MSP) on the district and sub-district ranges and dealing intently with public-sector entities and representatives on enhancing nutrition-sensitive programming.
